I'm sure you are all curious what my big special date was! I shall tell you.
Friday night, I caught Karl talking all sly to my brother, Matt. So I figured that Matt and his female, Kaelin, were joining us! I knew for sure when I saw their car following us. Still.... Kaelin and I had no idea what they were up to!
Our first stop was at a thrift store. They tried to make us wear gross and smelly scarves. I was so confused. There I was, standing in the middle of a thrift store in the fanciest clothes I could come up with. We were slightly in a hurry and slightly refusing to wear anything they threw at us... so we left empty handed and continued on our way. Karl assured me our uncooperativeness would not ruin any plans.
As we continued driving, we ran into some crazy traffic. I'm thinking- "Oh no! We are going to be late! (For where ever we were going) Karl! Pull around all this nonsense!" I felt silly as I realized all this traffic was going to the same place we were!
As we turned a corner, I saw it. Gammage! I squealed "Are we going to see a play!?!" Karl smiled but still refused to tell me which play it was!
It took forever to park, so in order for us to get there in time, Kaelin and I took off our heals and we all ran to the entrance. We got in just in time and as they handed us our programs, I finally figured out we were going to see Beauty and The Beast! I squealed again. haha
The play was so great and it was such a fun night!
Afterwards, we all went to dinner at Olive Garden! One of my favorites!
*So why were we at a thrift store?? The guys thought it would be funny to get even more ritzier. They were in search of fancy things for us and a handkerchief for their suit pockets or maybe even an eye-glass.... Fail.

Remember how I said Karl and I always liked to go and take pictures while we were dating? These particular pictures were taken after my birthday dinner. We were in the area, so I told Karl of this cool Love statue. At this point... Karl and I had not said the "L" word yet and vowed that these pictures were just because it would be fun and look cool. They were to never end up on anyones blog. Well we're married now... So I think I'm allowed. They are really cheesy... and I'm always blurry because I could never hold still enough. haha That would frustrate Karl. I was just too giddy to not be laughing or turning to look at him before the shot was taken. 1- Beacuse it was my birthday weekend! 2- I'm pretty sure I loved him.
We had so many fun dates and nights together. Now that we are married... it has been hard to find time to do anything but go to Costa Vida or see a movie since our schedules are so insane. Not that I don't cherish every second of those moments as well... I'm just saying. We're boring.
About a week ago, Karl got all up in my business asking me what my schedule was going to be like the following weekend. He told me to keep Friday open, and when I asked him why, he said 'You'll see'.
As you can imagine... I have been going crazy this past week! My mind has been thinking of anything and everything since my only hint was to dress nicer than I ever have before! Karl will be wearing a suit.... and I have NO idea what I'm going to wear!! But I'm so excited I can't even stand it!
I love dates. I love Karl.

When Karl and I first started hanging out, we always took pictures together. Karl wanted to check out my 'equipment' and I wanted to stay strictly business as well. (Whatever. We liked each other.) Last October, Karl and I went to a pumpkin patch and he taught me how to take this long exposure shot-
Little did we know, that very same pumpkin patch was located in the grocery store parking lot behind the apartments where we would live when we got married! (hehe)
That same pumpkin patch is set up again this year! So for family night this week, Karl and I put on our running shoes and jogged on over. How sporty are we?... sometimes. We bought two little baby pumpkins for our little place.
It was such a fun night, and those little pumpkins completed my Halloween spread!
Some sweet spray painted branches I stole off Mom and Dad's tree.
Another cheap idea- just find cute Halloween silhouettes, print them on cute paper, and stick them in a frame!
The dust in this picture just adds to the whole Halloween feel.....(embarrassing)
Ta-dah! We are set for Halloween! Do kids Trick-or-Treat at apartments?
And another little side note. Look at this cute sign my momma bought me as an early house-warming gift!! I LOOOOVE it! I've wanted one for so long but could never find the right size or color I liked. She ordered it from Barn Owl Primitive's Etsy Shop. You should check it out.

I love Sundays. There is no school or work, so Karl and I have the entire day together. Sunday is also family day. We alternate weeks going to the Reed's or the Shaker's for dinner. Last Sunday was a Reed Sunday. Since it was finally not blazing hot, we got to hang out in the backyard after dinner.

Grocery Shopping. I just hate it. Every week, you get in your hot car, drive to the store, spend an hour or so roaming up and down the isles trying to stay within your budget. (Take the cheese balls back out of the cart...) Then, you unload everything you just put in your cart to have them scan it and put it back into your cart. Then you take that cart full of groceries you just paid for and unload them once again into your hot, black car. Once you have arrived home, you quickly unload them out of your car before everything melts (I swear I get home with one giant glob of cheese that used to be shredded). But alas. This is not the last time you will be unloading those dreaded groceries. Once you carry them all the way up the stairs in the hot heat to your apartment, you one more time unload those groceries into their appropriate storage locations throughout your kitchen. THEN... you are done. Until next week....
Today was Monday. Grocery day. I walked outside with my prepared list to find a pleasantly dark, grey sky and a cool breeze. It was only like 90 degrees people! How glorious. Or so I thought. Every once in a while, Arizona decides to rain. Today was that every once in a while. Today. Grocery day. Rain. Me. My hair.
I didn't have an umbrella... nor was I wearing what appears to be a cute, blue dress. I did have shoes though.... the point it is what raining HARD as I went through the process of unloading and unloading and unloading those groceries with a periodic "Are you kidding me??" BUT.... at least it wasn't hot.
I still hate grocery shopping.
