Camping With The Pup.

Karl and I FINALLY didn't have one single obligation this weekend. So we took Roscoe on his very first camping trip along with my brother Mat, his wife Kaelin, and our friends JJ and Breah!

Freda Ferns a Mormon!

My sweet grandmother, Freda Fern, is now officially a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!

This is one of the most amazing ladies I have ever met. She is so happy and adventurous and she is a friend to everyone she meets. This weekend, my parents and my two youngest brothers were able to fly to Arkansas to be at her baptism.

My dad, her son, got to baptize her. So special. I think she looks extra happy in this picture. And I am extra happy for her! Love you, Grandma!

One Man's Trash....Is Another Girl's Craft!

First off... let me apologize for my cheesy title. But it fit oh so well. I stole this empty Cream Soda bottle from my parent's house and decided to make it the latest edition of my kitchen decor. Total cost? $0. Holler.

I snagged some pretty flowers off of our bushes out front and stuck them right in! Even Karl was impressed!
...Then the flowers died. So twigs will have to do. But I put a stack of homemade cookies next to it so... crisis averted, right?
I don't know if it will always stay right there on the counter... but for right now, consider it *liked.

Roscoe Snores.... Bad.

I was so glad to find out that Karl was not a snorer. I haaate snoring. Especially when I am trying to sleep. I was lucky to get a husband that didn't snore... but our dog is a different story. Here he is snoozing on top of my back pack by my feet while I do homework.

It's so bad! In the middle of the night we have to readjust his sleeping position to try and ease it a bit. But we love him anyway....

Mirror Makeover!

My uncle David was kind enough to get us this mirror as a wedding gift. (Almost 1 year ago?! Whaaat!)

We really like the mirror... hence why we registered for it... but I didn't feel like it was fitting in with the theme of our new home. But these insecurities were nothing that a trip to Hobby Lobby couldn't fix. 5 super cute knobs for 50% off? Please and thank you!

And thank you to my awesome dad for helping me!

(I plan on patching up the holes and painting the mirror a different color..... eventually)
But for right now... I LOVE it. Success.
(Forgive the blurry photos... I was too lazy to get my camera out and just used my phone.)

A few of my favorite things!!

I have recently done some new, cute things to the house! As I have mentioned before... I have been very slow to decorate. It has been very hard for me to commit to the placement of a frame or the color of the shelf. Months ago... I bought this fantastic BLUE shelf at goodwill for $6. Compared to the $20-$30 dollar shelves I had been seeing everywhere else, I decided $6 wasn't bad. In fact, I could give this little guy a new life.
Weeks went by and I didn't know what color to paint it... but when I found this wooden piece to cover the holes, I knew what look I wanted! So I primed it and glued the wood piece on.
I spray painted it black and LOVED it. The only problem was I didn't know where I wanted to put it or what to put on top of it!... So a few more weeks went by until I was once again motivated by a trip to Hobby Lobby. There, I found this awesome wooden box and cute vintage soap bottles! As well as that sweet kitchen sign! Voila!! I LOOOOOVE IT!!!

It is on our wall in our kitchen. And don't you worry. I have big plans for the other side of that wall!
(p.s. See that light? When we got it, it was bronze. Sick. So we busted out the spray paint again.)

Oook.... moving on to my most recent projects. I had seen an idea that I wanted to try for my laundry room. However, when I went to get the supplies from Target... I would have been spending close to $40. No thanks. I knew it could be done cheaper. So on my way home from interning this afternoon, I stopped at the 'ol Goodwill again. There, I found these treasures for a grand total of $13!

$2.99
$3.99
$1.99
$3.99
These may not look like treasures.... but I had a vision! To complete my vision... I needed a few more things that I conveniently already had on hand!

Some primer and ivory spray paint!
Another cute, glass jar
(plus burlap, tags, and stamps)

Here is what I did with the first item. I needed something to keep my earrings together.

Here is what I did with the box. It is in my pantry... which is a work in progress so be patient to see the rest.
And HERE is what I did with everything else! TA-DUH!!

I found this little picture online and just printed it on normal paper and put it in an extra frame I had. I think it's so funny. Plus I needed it because the red in the picture will tie together my laundry sign!
I still need to hang it up... I've had this sign since before I was even married! I knew one day I would have a wonderful laundry room to decorate.
Besides my cute little project I did today, our laundry room isn't much... haha It's actually pretty pathetic. But just you watch. I'll have the rest of it looking just as good in no time!
I am so happy with how everything turned out! It makes me so happy just looking at it! And even a little excited to do laundry! I think I'll go do a load right now!
