Hair Care

Why am I showing you an upside down picture of the back of my head?

Very valid question.
1- Bc I took it upside down and didn't realize it until I loaded the picture and was too lazy to rotate it and repost it....
2- I have almost gone 2 weeks without blow drying my hair!

It all started 2 Sunday's ago... Karl and I were sitting in church when I was caught picking at my split ends. It was then that Karl proposed a 1 week challenge to not use any heat on my hair! That's right. No blow dryer... no straightener... no curling iron.
This was not an easy challenge for me. I have had curly curls ever since I was little. But as I have grown... my curls have turned into a frizzy mane if not properly tended to. But I decided I would take the challenge. I'm always complaining about my hair not growing... so maybe 1 week of not murdering it every morning would help! (Or at least prove to Karl I'm not afraid of a challenge.)
So the one week went by. I spent most days with either a nasty bed-head bun or looking like a lion. Keep in mind I was not in my house all day that week! I was interning as well as working and going to school... how embarrassing.
After the 1 week was up, I gave myself a pat on the back. However, I decided I liked the idea of having healthier and possibly longer hair. So I decided to continue this challenge. Except not so extreme... I have not used the blow dryer for almost 2 weeks and only use the curling iron to a minimum. I'm for reals. Like I have a 1 minute timer.
I have learned the beauty of a little mousse and am learning to work with my natural curls. But if you see me on the street with an ugly bun or something... know that I am reaching for the stars over here!

Between this challenge and the 30 for 30 challenge in the previous post... I'm becoming quite the dare devil. Now all I need is for someone to challenge me to exercise!

30 For 30!

I was blog hopping and found this little challenge

You choose 30 items from your wardrobe and have to mix and reuse them over 30 days! It is supposed to teach you to appreciate your clothes and realize the golden pieces you have! You are also not allowed to shop during the 30 days. Now... I'm not a shopaholic... but I will admit to feeling like I never have cute clothes and having the urge to redo my whole ensemble at least once a month. Just an urge people.

*not my closet... sad face.

I think I'm gonna do it! Who's with me?!

Of course... I'll start after my birthday.. (which happens to be less than a week away!) Plus then it will be a new month and I can start fresh.

For Kaelin!

I turn my back for 2 seconds.....

For real?? I got him back by putting a price tag sticker on his smashed little face that drove him crazy for a good 5 minutes.
Roscoe is a tad bipolar. In the morning.... he is either such a bum that he is too lazy to even get up and eat or he is so hyper that he wont let you sleep another minute! By late morning... he is calm and will quietly follow you anywhere or sleep on your lap. By late afternoon... he is so hyper that there is no taming him... hence the yarn incident. But if I can survive past 6... I can count on him crashing and sleeping the rest of the night. This is just like motherhood, right guys??

Ay Chihuahua!

The other day, we had scheduled an engagement session at Freestone Park. While I waited for the clients... I was just messing around and taking pictures of things I saw....

Suddenly I turned around and beheld a quinceanera extravaganza.

If only I had seen those dresses for my bridesmaids......(joke.)

Happy Valentines Day

One year ago TODAY, I decided that Karl was much more than just a friend to me. That night, he kissed me in the front yard, and he has been kissing me ever since! He is completely perfect, and I could not ask for a better valentine!
I love you, Karl!

This post has no meaning.

I feel like I need to blog.... I just don't know about what. I don't really have much to say. Karl and I are crazy busy with school and work right now. And work for me is about to get a whole lot busier. It's wedding season. I have to work soo many weddings this time of year. To prove it's wedding season... I have 3 bridal showers to attend on Saturday only to come home and take engagement pictures. Let the games begin. Besides school and work, Roscoe is our life. I looove this picture. Roscoe is always laying on his back and falling asleep upside down. haha

This little project has also kept Karl pretty busy! He's such a hard worker... slash good looking. I can't wait until my kitchen is good looking too! See my cute bakery sign above our pantry entryway? Sigh... I love it. I have been having the hardest time hanging things on the walls. Decorating an entire house... although very exciting... can be very overwhelming. I have been very careful to decide what I want where. But... after much harassment from everyone... Karl stayed up late with me one night and used his manly tools to help me hang a few cute items. Progress people. Progress.

I can't wait for it to be finished... I'll definitely have to do some before and after pics soon. Most of the rest of our house is still pretty empty. So... if anyone sees awesome furniture on the side of the road or just has a yearning to give theirs away!... you know who to call!

It's also my birth month. Yes. Some people have birth days... I have a month. And Karl has graciously accepted that. There happens to be a large box sitting in our living room right now that I am not allowed to touch! (I already shook it... I have no idea... haha) It's also Valentines Day soon!! My first Valentines Day with a real Valentine! :D This will be so fun! My dad used to give me (and my mom) flowers on Valentines Day. How kind. My dad is a softy at heart....
Alright I'm done rambling.
Ps. I found a bridesmaid dress. Stay tuned!

***UPDATE: Karl just got home from school and opened the large box in the living room. It was full of boxes of cereal. What. Who orders cereals online?! hahaha It's his favorite and there was a deal for like 6 boxes. BUT there is a box on the way for ME!

I need help....

I am a bridesmaid for Mat & Kaelin's wedding. (yay!) However.... I am reliving high school dances all over again... I can NOT find a dress! Well... I have found lots of cute dresses. But they are either too short, only available in size 0 or 16, or waaaaay over my budget.
So if someone knows a good place to look or finds something similar to these examples... (in this vintage pink shade with more of a flowy feel) I would love you forever. Thanks.
