Winter?

Three days ago Roscoe was basking in the sunlight. The world was his. Now he is too cold to even pee outside! Where in the world did this weather come from!

(He does yoga apparently...)

The Holidays!

The following will be an absolutely pathetic attempt to do a recap of the past couple of months.
Here we go!

Our 6 month anniversary past! Booyah! I'm pretty sure we are going on 8 now... but 6 months seemed significant. That day, Karl came home from work with flowers for me! I looooove flowers!!
This will serve as our Halloween section of this post... although this picture was actually taken the day before Thanksgiving. NO this is not our house. It is a house around the corner. They went all out for Halloween and decided to just leave the decorations up through Christmas. haha Maybe even for a happy New Year?

This is what we found on our doorstep one morning. Our neighborhood is flooded with stray cats and my hatred for cats is growing deeper every day! Not only do they leave their dinner on my porch... but they poop all over our backyard!!!!
Here is a picture that shows an angry Karl pointing to the cat poop I just stepped in with our sweet new croquet set we found at DI! I have found some way good stuff I plan on fixing up at DI and thrift stores but I'll save that for another post.
Early Thanksgiving morning, Karl and a couple of my brothers went to play football with some friends. I cheered him on from the sidelines. Later that day, we went to my Great Grandma McKinnon's house and feasted. After eating, we played bocce ball and kick ball. Then we got to go spend some time with the Reed family!

(See that foxy girl next to Matt? After Thanksgiving, he proposed!! They're getting married! We love her! Read about the proposal HERE) After some time with the Reeds, we spent some time with the Shaker side of the family. THEN we went and bought our first fake Christmas tree! Thank you Walmart. We set it up that night, and I would be lying if I said I didn't get a tear in my eye when it was finished. Don't judge me.

We spent the season drinking hot chocolate, looking at Christmas lights, spending time with family, and giving gifts. Gifts like a homemade jerky ornament for an ornament exchange at work.
And dipped pretzels!

So cute! There ended up only being enough to give to Karl's work buddies... We'll have to make more next year!
Christmas Eve, we woke up early and took family pictures for our dear friends, the Petts. They took this picture of us before we left. You can say it. We're attractive. Sleepy eyes and all.

After taking pictures, we got in the car to leave and Karl asked if I was ready to go pick up our puppy! WHAAAT! I was so excited and SO surprised!
We drove to Queen Creek and this little guy became the newest member of our little family. Karl thought of the most awesome name- Roscoe. He is sooo cute and snugly. Right after we picked him up, my family told us to meet them at the movies. Roscoe saw his first movie, Tron (stupid movie) while sitting in a purse. haha So great.

Christmas morning we opened our presents with Roscoe and then spent the rest of the day between both our families. We even got to Skype with my brother, Keaton, that's on his mission!

So... that was pretty much it. We had a great Christmas and are so happy. It's been so nice to have a break from school and get to spend some extra time together. I can't wait to see what happens next year!

Forgive Me.

I realize I have been a complete failure as a blogger lately... I have missed writing about many special events. But I have pictures and a good memory... and New Year's resolutions are just around the corner right? I'll get caught up... but to keep you interested until I do.... feast your eyes on my new little friend.

His names Roscoe. And I love him. Karl surprised me with him for Christmas! By far my best gift... Now I shall go snuggle him.

People are getting married!

Karl and I have had a busy couple of weeks! Go see our latest work at www.kandkphotos.com!

A Play at Gammage!

I'm sure you are all curious what my big special date was! I shall tell you.

Friday night, I caught Karl talking all sly to my brother, Matt. So I figured that Matt and his female, Kaelin, were joining us! I knew for sure when I saw their car following us. Still.... Kaelin and I had no idea what they were up to!

Our first stop was at a thrift store. They tried to make us wear gross and smelly scarves. I was so confused. There I was, standing in the middle of a thrift store in the fanciest clothes I could come up with. We were slightly in a hurry and slightly refusing to wear anything they threw at us... so we left empty handed and continued on our way. Karl assured me our uncooperativeness would not ruin any plans.

As we continued driving, we ran into some crazy traffic. I'm thinking- "Oh no! We are going to be late! (For where ever we were going) Karl! Pull around all this nonsense!" I felt silly as I realized all this traffic was going to the same place we were!
As we turned a corner, I saw it. Gammage! I squealed "Are we going to see a play!?!" Karl smiled but still refused to tell me which play it was!

It took forever to park, so in order for us to get there in time, Kaelin and I took off our heals and we all ran to the entrance. We got in just in time and as they handed us our programs, I finally figured out we were going to see Beauty and The Beast! I squealed again. haha

The play was so great and it was such a fun night!

Sophisticated, babe.

Afterwards, we all went to dinner at Olive Garden! One of my favorites!

*So why were we at a thrift store?? The guys thought it would be funny to get even more ritzier. They were in search of fancy things for us and a handkerchief for their suit pockets or maybe even an eye-glass.... Fail.

I'm going on a date!

Remember how I said Karl and I always liked to go and take pictures while we were dating? These particular pictures were taken after my birthday dinner. We were in the area, so I told Karl of this cool Love statue. At this point... Karl and I had not said the "L" word yet and vowed that these pictures were just because it would be fun and look cool. They were to never end up on anyones blog. Well we're married now... So I think I'm allowed. They are really cheesy... and I'm always blurry because I could never hold still enough. haha That would frustrate Karl. I was just too giddy to not be laughing or turning to look at him before the shot was taken. 1- Beacuse it was my birthday weekend! 2- I'm pretty sure I loved him.

We had so many fun dates and nights together. Now that we are married... it has been hard to find time to do anything but go to Costa Vida or see a movie since our schedules are so insane. Not that I don't cherish every second of those moments as well... I'm just saying. We're boring.

About a week ago, Karl got all up in my business asking me what my schedule was going to be like the following weekend. He told me to keep Friday open, and when I asked him why, he said 'You'll see'.

As you can imagine... I have been going crazy this past week! My mind has been thinking of anything and everything since my only hint was to dress nicer than I ever have before! Karl will be wearing a suit.... and I have NO idea what I'm going to wear!! But I'm so excited I can't even stand it!

I love dates. I love Karl.

Halloween Time!

When Karl and I first started hanging out, we always took pictures together. Karl wanted to check out my 'equipment' and I wanted to stay strictly business as well. (Whatever. We liked each other.) Last October, Karl and I went to a pumpkin patch and he taught me how to take this long exposure shot-

Little did we know, that very same pumpkin patch was located in the grocery store parking lot behind the apartments where we would live when we got married! (hehe)

That same pumpkin patch is set up again this year! So for family night this week, Karl and I put on our running shoes and jogged on over. How sporty are we?... sometimes. We bought two little baby pumpkins for our little place.

It was such a fun night, and those little pumpkins completed my Halloween spread!

This is my cute countdown I made at enrichment!

Some sweet spray painted branches I stole off Mom and Dad's tree.
Another cheap idea- just find cute Halloween silhouettes, print them on cute paper, and stick them in a frame!

(Yes, Karl. I checked if W. Shakespeare really said that....)

The dust in this picture just adds to the whole Halloween feel.....(embarrassing)
Ta-dah! We are set for Halloween! Do kids Trick-or-Treat at apartments?

And another little side note. Look at this cute sign my momma bought me as an early house-warming gift!! I LOOOOVE it! I've wanted one for so long but could never find the right size or color I liked. She ordered it from Barn Owl Primitive's Etsy Shop. You should check it out.

Thank you, Mom!
