One Month.

Today marks exactly one month until my due date! The doctor says all my numbers look great and that baby could come as soon as he wants now! I am so excited I can't even stand it. I can't wait to meet this little babe. And also... I can't wait to NOT be pregnant. Don't get me wrong. I know pregnancy is such a blessing, and I am so grateful that I have had the chance to carry our child.... but I've been doing it for 8 months now. Time for a break. As I get bigger and more uncomfortable each day, I become more and more willing to take on the pains of labor and delivery. Whenever I get a little nervous... I think about some of these things and it reminds me it will be worth it for my body to be back to 'normal' again. Plus I'll get a son. Bonus.

(Definitely peed my pants a little while walking in the grocery store yesterday...)

Poor Karl...

I've thought about making a shirt like this.

I hate getting dressed and hate cute dressed girls.

Very true. Except Karl doesn't fold his arms... he brings me another Star Crunch.

Right?

I wish I was a goddess of pregnancy like these ladies. Except I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to be riding horseback when you are pregnant...

And if you are going to relax in the tropics... Why would you pick to lay on a branch? Find me a hammock or something.

I think this woman has the right idea. I love watermelon. And if anyone tries to take it from me... well... that's what the gun is for I'm assuming.

Now who knows any tricks for how to go into labor!

Trooper.

This past weekend, Karl and I went camping with Mat and Kaelin, Brandon and Aimee, and little Garrison. Being that I am 8 months pregnant, I like to call myself a trooper. Karl and I were taking wedding pictures on Friday and decided to go up as soon as we were done working that night. I prepped myself for an uncomfortable truck ride with a pillow behind my back and my stretchiest pants. I prepped myself for an even more uncomfortable than usual night of sleep by bringing all 3 of my pillows, extra blankets, and of course, Tums. Karl would be concerned at my tossing and turning throughout the night and when he would ask if I was ok, I would have to explain that I was just trying to roll over. Hard to do normally... extra hard in a sleeping bag. Remember how you have to pee a lot when you are pregnant too? Despite my best efforts to avoid any beverages too close to bedtime, I still had to take a dreadful mid night trip to the bathroom. Outside. Karl was a sweetheart and came with me though. And did I mention there was snow on the ground? I was so excited when the sun came up. And even more excited that little G was such an early bird and immediately got up and made a fire for us. Once the rest of our crew finally got up, Karl made me breakfast, the girls relaxed by the fire, the dogs explored, and the men played sling shot paintball. Besides being a little uncomfortable, I'm really glad I went and that we got to have one last fun trip before this little one arrives. 32 days!!

After so much adventure time with Gracie, Roscoe was soo tired and was dozing off in my lap. (PS I love creepy Gracie in the background of this pic)
 SNOW
Garrison slept the whole way home.

Gettin' Lucky! 3.17.2012

I really think I am the luckiest girl in the world. I'll start off by referencing the above pictures. Look how good looking my husband is. LUCKY. Really though, I feel like everything in my life has always just worked out. I feel so blessed for everything that I have. And I could not ask for more. (Except maybe for this baby to arrive.)
Luckily, Karl and I got to spend St. Patrick's Day together. We did a lot of shopping to prepare for baby boy Reed's arrival. And since we are so lucky, we didn't really have to buy much! Everyone was so generous at the baby shower that we only needed to worry about a few essential things.

Karl handed me this barrel of cheese balls. LUCKY.

And luckily, it was amaaaazing weather! The perfect spring day. So we decided to have a picnic with Roscoe at the park.

There was a wind machine for my hair. Lucky.
 My favorite boys. Lucky.
Karl gave me his jacket and let me lay on his giant bicep. Lucky.

Shortly after this, we were taking a walk around the lake when we spotted some vulnerable ducks. We let Roscoe go after them and to our surprise, he didn't stop until he was in the lake! And LUCKILY, he swam back to the edge and let Karl help him out.

It was a great St. Patrick's Day.

A Shower of Awesomeness!

Last weekend, I had my baby shower. It was the greatest. I had so much fun planning for it and a HUGE thanks to everyone that helped! Everything was perfect. I decided I wanted an actual 'shower' theme with clouds, raindrops, umbrellas etc. And a shower it was. We had clouds hanging from the ceiling with raindrops, umbrellas on the wall, cloud shaped sugar cookies and so much more! I had so much fun with all the decorations. But let's get real... I was mostly excited about the food. That is, after all, the best part of a shower, isn't it? I looove shower food. I don't know why chicken salad sandwiches mean so much to me... but they do. I wish we would have taken more pictures... but here are a few!

Thank you again to everyone who helped and to all those who attended and showered us with love! We are so grateful!

49 Days! (But who's counting...)

Today I am 33 weeks pregnant, and I'm feeling great! I've learned to pick things up with my toes instead of bending over. I now see the doctor every two weeks. Pretty soon, it will be every week! Then... it's baby time! I can't wait. My mom is trying to keep me calm because being this excited and ready for baby boy to get here with so much time left to go is a dangerous thing. I'm going to go crazy waiting! Seven more weeks! Wish us luck!

My Birth Month.

I had a wonderful birth month. Mr. Reed has graciously allowed me to have an entire month. He hears things like "Will you rub my feet?... It's my BIRTH MONTH!" all month long... leading into my birth week, my birth weekend, and eventually my actual birthday. Yowzah. Sounds like a pretty big deal, right? It's not... haha I wouldn't say I'm super high maintenance about my birthday... I didn't even really ask for anything. I just like saying it's my birthday. This year I feel like it was especially laid back because I had someone else's birth month on my mind. My little boy's. I can't believe in only 8 weeks he will be here! So I've spent my birth month preparing his nursery and getting ready for my shower this weekend. But on my birthday, I was well taken care of. Karl was so sweet and took a couple hours off of work in the morning so he could take me to breakfast. He kissed my face and let me eat a blueberry pancake the size of my head.

After breakfast, my mom accompanied me to a doctor's appointment. The doctor wanted to do an ultra sound on account of my 'poor maternal weight gain'. No one calls me a poor mother! I came back having gained a whopping 6lbs this month! Cha-ching! So as an update... I've now gained a total of 12 lbs. It was so fun be able to see him a little more grown now. That may have been my favorite present. The little one weighs about 4 pounds, and he has hair!

After the doctor, my mom decided it was time for me to get some actual maternity clothes. So I got my first pair of maternity pants and some great shirts. I'm a real woman now. And the day wouldn't have been complete with out a lunch date to P.F. Changs. Happy Birthday to me!

Later that night, my family all went for ice cream at Nielson's where I finally got my Happy Birthday song. It was a great day.

Now, usually my birthday is the last day of February. So once my birthday is over, as is my birth month. However, thanks to it being a leap year, I got one more day out of my special month. So it's only natural that we took that time to do something special..... May I present... SNL.
